Description

Between Agadir and Essaouira, the High Atlas joins the sea. This wild coast is accessible only by foot or by the sea. Going up the coast to the north, the ocean offers such as show to us: beaches of fine sand, plateaus overlooking the ocean, limestone cliffs and dunes plunging into the sea. In the evening, after the effort, the proximity of the Atlantic is appreciated. It is a hike filled with sweetness of life. On the march is added the discovery of Essaouira, one of the most beautiful cities of Morocco.

Day by day

  • Day 01: Reception at the airport of Marrakech - Night at the hotel or riad
    Whatever your time of arrival, a member of RedaTrekMaroc welcomes you. Beforehand, all you have to do is specify your flight details: arrival time, origin and flight number. In the case of delay, it is imperative to report it by SMS. Night at the hotel or riad in bed and breakfast formula.
  • Day 02: Marrakech and Imessouane - 3h hiking and 4h drive - Night in tent
    We take the road after breakfast. We go through Chichaoua to reach the tip of Imessouane, where we find our camel team. After lunch, we load luggage and logistics on the back of the animals. We start our hike from Imessouane very popular with surfers. We arrive at our camp located in Amderdiz'in. The place is famous for its beautiful sunsets.
  • Day 03: Amderdiz'in and Tafedna - 6h hiking - Night in tent
    We cross several small villages surrounded by fields planted with barley and meet the Berbers of Haha. We are in a mountainous landscape, the land is rocky covered with a forest of argan trees, endogenous trees of the region of Essaouira. We walk over beaches and coves sometimes inaccessible. All along our journey, we enjoy the ocean view. Our camp for the night is close to Tafdena, former Portuguese village today fishing port.
  • Day 04: Tafedna and Sidi Ahmed Assayh - 6h hiking - Night in tent
    We start our trek through Tafedna then climb to a plateau covered with argan trees. Here, goats climb trees to eat their leaves. The coastline is steep and wild. In the distance, we can see the fishermen on their boats. We head towards the sea and walk along the coast to the camp, Sidi Ahmed Assayh (well), the most beautiful beach in the region.
  • Day 05: Sidi Ahmed Essayeh and Sidi M'barek - 4h hiking - Night in tent
    We ride along the rugged coastline from the cliff and cross small Berber villages. It happens that the inhabitants invite us to take the tea accompanied by patties and argan oil. On our side, we can thank them for their participation. We arrive in the dunes of Assif n'Boud where a small river leads to the sea. Colorful boats are drawn on the sand. Our camp is near the beach, next to the Sidi m'Barek waterfalls lined with a dune. We enjoy part of the afternoon and evening to enjoy the shore.
  • Day 06: Sidi m'Barek, Sidi Kaouki and Essaouira - 5h hiking - Night in a hotel or riad
    From Sidi m'Barek, we continue our walk on the coast. The light is beautiful. Throughout the hike, we contemplate the cliffs worked by the salt and the wind, the wild beaches, the charm of the village of Sidi Kaouki, from where a local transport leads us to Essaouira. Installation at the hotel or riad. Discovery of the ancient Mogador, the white and blue city (white houses with blue doors and windows), a fishing port founded by the Portuguese then conquered by the French, now a World Heritage Site by Unesco. It's a delight to stroll through the medina, the alleys, the fortress and the port.
  • Day 07: Essaouira and Marrakech - 2h30 drive - Overnight at hotel or riad
    We leave to Marrakech in the morning. We stop for lunch along the way. In the early afternoon, check in at the hotel or riad. It remains the end of the day to enjoy this exciting city, from the snake showers of Djemaa el-Fna to mosques and beautiful palaces and gardens.
  • Day 08: Transfer to the airport according to the time of your airport meeting
