We go up the river (river in Arabic) where the villagers are busy around food crops. The hike is a giant walk in the villages of the Azaden Valley: terraced crops, juniper trees, walnut trees, water mills near the river and mud houses ranging from ocher to dark red. The path leads to the village of Tizi Oussem. We climb to the azibs Tamsoulte (azib means bergerie in Berber) by a mountain path that bypasses juniper and cedar. We arrive at the cottage, located above the summer azibs. After lunch, we start a walk to discover the waterfalls of Ighouliden (2300 m), the highest of the massif (about fifty meters). We return to the cottage for dinner and spend the night there.

At the pass, we can see the slopes of Toubkal and Jebel Oukaïmedem. The contrast between the green valleys and the arid mountains that dominate them is striking. We arrive at Armed, a little above Imli. We settle for dinner and overnight in a cottage in the village of Armed.

We go down to the village of Tinghrine. We go back to Tamguiste and Ouaneskra and admire the agricultural traditions of the Berber mountaineers. We discover the irrigated terraces that rise very high on the flanks of the valley. The brown of the mountain and the green of the cultures are delimited by a superior channel (targa). To maximize all acres of fertile land, villages are built high up. We prepare our bivouac for dinner and spend the night under tent in Tacheddirt.
