Description

A quick hike that reaches the highest point of North Africa, Toubkal (4167 m). This climb is intended for all those who have only a few days and who wish to climb a "4000" without too much major technical difficulty. The change of scenery is guaranteed.

Key Highlights

  • - Ascent of a "4000" without major difficulty
    - Fast 2-day hike to a summit
    - The immediate change of scene, near Marrakech

Day by day

  • Day 01: Marrakech, Imlil, Sidi Chamarouch and Neltner refuge - 5h30 hiking and 2h drive - Night in refuge
We make a short transfer of two hours drive to go to Imlil, mountain village and real gateway to the Toubkal massif. We entrust the luggage and logistics to our muleteer and begin our climb up to the refuge by following the channels that irrigate the terraced crops. After our lunch break at the foot of the village of Sidi Chamarouch, the mountain is more arid and only a few bleating goats and sheep guarded by shepherds come punctuate our hike. We dine and spend the night at the Neltner, refuge of Toubkal (3207 m).
  • Day 02: Neltner Refuge (3207 m), Toubkal (4167 m), Imlil and Marrakech - 9h hiking and 2h drive - Night in the hotel or riad
The ascent of the summit is without major difficulty. We go up by a trail a valley to get to a pass. We follow a wide ridge that leads us to the summit of Toubkal (4167 m). We take advantage of the striking view where we dominate a large part of the Atlas and the plains of Haouz in the north, and Ouarzazate in the south. We begin our descent by the same path. We arrive at the refuge and after the picnic, we reach Imlil by the route of the previous day. We take the road to Marrakech to the village of Imlil. Installation at the hotel or riad in Marrakech.
