Day by day
Day 01: Marrakech, Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate (215 km) We leave the morning of Marrakech by the Ouarzazate road through the Tichka pass (2260m), then we take the road that leads to Ait Ben Haddou through the Berber villages of the Atlas. We visit the kasbah of Taourirte. The terrace of the former residence of Glaoui. We enjoy the breathtaking view of the fortified village, the valley, the oasis and the mountains. We dine and spend the night at the hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 02: Ouarzazate, Agdez, Zagora and M'Hamid El Ghizlane (264 km) We leave in the direction of M'Hamid El Ghizlane (also called M'Hamid). We already admire the desert, not sand dunes but stones as far as the eye can see, dotted with a few acacia trees. In the distance, we can see the Atlas Mountains. Under the care of children or women in long black dresses, flocks of goats and sheep roam under the sun. Agdez is located at the entrance to the famous Draa Valley and the huge palm grove that extends to Zagora, on the edge of the desert on the borders with Algeria. It is the caravan route of Timbuktu. The road to M'Hamid is beautiful: Zagora where at the southern end of the city is the famous sign announcing the door of the desert (Timbuktu 52 days), the Jbel Saghro which offers a beautiful panorama of the valley of Drâa, the dunes of Tinfout, along the wadi Drâa and its palm trees, dotted with kasbahs and ksours. M'Hamid is one of the first gates of the Sahara desert. It is also the last village before the large expanses of pebbles and sand of the Sahara. The 2-hour camel ride allows us to witness an unforgettable sunset. Tea, dinner, wake around a fire and night at the bivouac in our Berber tents or under the stars.
Day 03: M'Hamid and Marrakech (455 km) We go to Marrakech by making stops to visit the surroundings of Zagora and Ouarzazate.
